Volume measurement with Drones is an extremely fast, accurate and cost-effective method to analyze volumes on your maps from any device. User tests have found that when following best practices Drone's volume measurements are accurate within 1-2% of traditional ground-based laser measurements.
Sometimes a 3D representation isn’t enough to get the job done, so we wanted to provide a tool that combines the best of both worlds in a single environment. The rayCloud provides a seamless integration between a 3D representation of the project area and the original images.
The accuracy of a volume measurement depends on the quality of the reconstruction and on how well the base surface is defined. This means that I would first make sure that the project itself is well reconstructed by checking the quality report and the point cloud.
